Elder Dr. Bertha Greene is Pastor and Organizer (1996) of the Sacred Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland, and Project ARISE (Abstinence, Remembering, Instilling pride, Self-worth, Education), the church's community-based organization.
Dr. Greene seeks to better the lives of men and women wherever God directs her path. With each assignment, God affords her opportunities to share the Gospel. Her ministry has been heard throughout the Baltimore-Metropolitan area, the State of Maryland, and the U.S. She a much sought after Retreat/Workshop Teacher and Preacher.
Elder Greene has served as Director of the Ministerial Alliance for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. In September 2007, she was appointed Full Gospel Baptist Church District Overseer for Baltimore City. The following year, in June 2008, she was elevated to the position of State of Maryland Overseer by the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, and officially installed on November 7, 2008.
Her services to the community have included: An original member of the Baltimore City Commission on AIDS; Advisory Board member for Johns Hopkins Adolescent and Child Psychiatry; an organizing member of Maryland BLCA (National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS); and a member of the Ryan White Planning Council of Greater Baltimore.
As a former columnist for a local magazine, A Sister's Dialogue, she wrote health-related articles with emphasis on HIV/AIDS. Her first book, FROM THE CRADLE TO THE PULPIT, an autobiography, was released in November 2008.
Pastor Greene holds a Bachelor of Science in Theology, Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from Family Bible College and Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland.
She is a wife, mother, foster mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dr. Greene and her husband, Deacon Ronald Greene, stand side by side working in the ministry.
